The land measurement work for the proposed Dumraon bypass road on National Highway 120 entered its second consecutive day, with the local administration pushing to expedite the process. Officials aim to complete the measurements quickly to facilitate early compensation to affected farmers and begin construction at the earliest.
Zonal Officer Shaman Prakash stated that land measurement is progressing smoothly and without interruption. "Our objective is to complete the work promptly and forward the details to the District Land Acquisition Office in Buxar," he said.
Measurement of land in Purana Bhojpur Qadeem Mauja has already been completed. Once all measurements are finalised, the related documents will be handed over to the land acquisition office, which will initiate the compensation process for the farmers.
The proposed bypass, around 5.5 kilometers long, is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Dumraon town. Land belonging to 502 farmers across four villages—Dumraon, Bankat, Khiroli, and Bhojpur Qadeem—has been earmarked for the project.
However, delays have arisen due to the reluctance of a few farmers to cooperate in the compensation process. In response, the administration has issued official notices to ensure participation.
Local residents have expressed enthusiasm about the project, viewing it as a major step toward improved connectivity and regional development. They are urging the administration to speed up both the measurement and compensation distribution processes so construction can commence without further delay.
