A new conservation lab, built at a cost of Rs 2 crore, is now ready at the Bihar Museum. This facility will preserve artifacts and artwork not only from the Bihar Museum but also from other museums across the state.

According to Additional Director Ashok Kumar Sinha, previously, damaged artifacts had to be sent to Delhi, Mumbai, or other cities for preservation, which was both expensive and time-consuming.

The new on-site lab will address both of these issues. The lab's establishment follows an MOU signed between the Ministry of Art and Culture, Government of India, and the Bihar Museum. This lab is expected to be a significant step forward for archaeological conservation.
