Himachal Weather: A yellow alert has been issued by the local meteorological department for thunderstorms and lightning with strong winds of 40 to 50 km/h in almost 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh from May 1 to 3.
The MeT office also issued a yellow warning for a heatwave in some areas of the districts of Una and Kullu on April 30.
The weather department has forecast a new western disturbance likely to impact the Western Himalayan area starting on May 2. It forecasts light to moderate rainfall in numerous locations on May 3 and 4 and light rainfall in a few locations in the state on May 1, 2, and 5.
The maximum temperature decreased slightly on Tuesday. However, Una had the highest temperature in the state with a temperature of 37°C compared to 41.6°C on Monday.

The following locations also had high temperatures: Chamba 32.5°C, Dharamshala 32°C, Bilaspur 36°C, Mandi 35.6°C, Bhuntar and Nahan 34.5°C each, Sundernagar 36.2°C, and Kangra 36.6°C. Manali's highest temperature was 28.5°C, while Shimla's was 26.8°C. Kasauli was warm, reaching a high of 28.6°C.

The lowest recorded maximum temperature on Monday was 16.9°C at Keylong, Lahaul Spiti.
The weather department has issued an advisory urging people to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the ongoing heat wave and to avoid going outdoors during peak heat hours. Travelers heading to higher altitudes are advised to exercise caution due to the possibility of snowfall and rainfall.
