In the financial year 2025-26, the East Central Railway has achieved several significant milestones in the fields of railway operations, freight transport, and passenger services. These achievements not only enhance the railway's operational and freight capacity but also improve passenger convenience and save time, while also strengthening the local and national economy.
Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra stated that the doubling of the Tori to Biratoli (6.5 km) railway line and the construction of the Shivpur-Tori third line (41.5 km) have been completed. The new Biharsharif-Asthawan, Asthawan-Barbigha, and Barbigha-Sheikhpura railway lines are ready. Additionally, the Daniyawan-Jat Dumri (22 km) railway section has also been completed, enabling the commencement of train operations from Sheikhpura to Jat Dumri.

In the Son Nagar-Patratu (291 km) section, work on the Richighuta-Bendi-Kumendi and Sigsigi-Untari Road-Muhammadganj segments has been completed. The doubling work on sections such as Nawada-Tilaiya (17.747 km), Garhwa ROR Phase-1 (5.10 km), Sindri Marshalling Yard (3 km), and Hazaribagh-Banadag (4.8 km) has been completed.
In the current financial year, work on the Kavach system has been completed over 77 route kilometres. In addition, automatic block signalling has been commissioned for 127 km. The construction of 11 road overbridges and four road underbridges has been completed.
New Cargo Terminals and Train Operations Five new Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals have been commissioned, including those in Hazaribagh, Singrauli, Khagaria, Chausa, and Shaktinagar.
In this financial year, 36 new trains have commenced operations, including Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, Amrit Bharat Express, express, and passenger trains. Furthermore, the routes of 15 pairs of trains have also been extended.
