All 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country have announced their enrollment and orientation schedules for the academic session 2025–26. The institutions have released timelines for registration, reporting, orientation programs, and commencement of classes, which are set to begin between the last week of July and mid-August.
According to the schedule, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur will begin their new academic sessions on July 31, while IIT Bombay will commence classes on July 28. At IIT Patna, the academic session is set to begin on August 4, with reporting and registration scheduled for July 31. The institute will hold its orientation program from August 1 to 3.

IIT Bombay will conduct its orientation sessions between July 21 and 26, requiring students to report by July 20. Meanwhile, IIT Gandhinagar will start its classes the latest, on August 18, following an extended foundation program from July 21 to August 15—the only IIT to organise such a program this year.
For IIT Delhi, student reporting is scheduled for July 21, with an induction program planned from July 22 to 30, leading into the start of classes on July 31.
In an inclusive move, IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT Indore have invited parents to participate in the orientation programs, which are scheduled for July 30 and July 25, respectively.

Across the IIT system, the emphasis remains on smooth academic onboarding, community integration, and a structured start to the academic year.
