Bihar News:  In a tragic road accident, five people were killed and eight injured after a truck collided with a Scorpio in Kishanganj, Bihar. The incident took place on Sunday at around 9 AM on NH 327E in Pauakhali, Thakurganj block.

Three died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries while en route to the hospital. Eight others, including children, who were travelling in the Scorpio, were severely injured. They have been rushed to the hospital and are currently receiving treatment.

All the deceased and the injured are residents of Thapkol in the Jokihat block of Araria district.

They are all claimed to be members of the same family. They were all traveling from Araria to Bagdogra. The remaining passengers in the car were minors and four adults. After hearing the loud bang of the Scorpio smashing into the truck, locals arrived at the scene and notified the police as they began the rescue operation.

After getting the information, Pauchhali SHO and Thakurganj SDPO Mangalesh Kumar arrived at the scene with his team, smashed open the Scorpio's door, and removed the injured individuals who were inside. Three people died on the spot. On the route to Kishanganj Mata Gujri Medical College, two persons died.

Former minister and Jokihat MLA Shahnawaz Alam of Araria arrived at the location upon hearing the information, after which he departed for the hospital. He conveyed his sorrow for the mishap. The families of the injured and killed from Araria also arrived to the hospital after learning of the situation.
