Bihar Health Department mandated healthcare facilities, including Sadar hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, referral hospitals and primary health centres to operate round-the-clock to provide free uninterrupted medical services to election staff members. The state government will incur the cost of medical treatment for any election staff member who may suffer from illness or injury during their election duties.

The department issued a directive prohibiting hospital staff from taking leave or leaving their respective working districts throughout the election period. The department also instructed the hospitals to stockpile essential medicines and oxygen supplies and to keep ambulances equipped with life-saving drugs at the ready for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

The state facilities in Bihar are being enhanced for the smooth voting process, where over 7.6 crore voters are expected to exercise their voting rights to elect 40 representatives in the Lok Sabha. Electorates in Bihar will vote in seven different phases, starting April 19 until June 1.
