The Election Commission (EC) has launched a fervid campaign across social media platforms to motivate the youth and urban voters ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The top poll body urged the people to verify any election-related information before sharing it. The ED has kickstarted the Turning 18 campaign to motivate first-time voters. You are the one campaign that has been launched by the top poll body to identify voters from all across. This is being done to ensure everyone’s participation in the voting exercise.

The Election Commission launched the ‘Chunav Ka Parv, Desh Ka Garv’ theme as part of their strategy to convey the message on polling.

Turning 18 Campaign:

The EC launched this campaign to target first-time voters across the country. This has also been launched to do away with urban apathy and youth apathy during the voting. Several themes and strategies have been adopted to mobilise the youth through this campaign. A comparison has also been drawn between the past and the present to underscore the progress made over time.

‘You Are The One’ Campaign:

This campaign has been launched to hail the contribution of various stakeholders involved in the electoral process. This is to celebrate the roles of voters, ground staff, polling parties, security forces, media, administration and other parties involved in the voting exercise. Several videos, reels and anecdotes from the past have been shared from past elections.

Election Stories, Crosswords, Election Dictionary:

The top poll body has also shared captivating stories of the past to woo voters through its initiative Chunaavi Kisse. A-Z of Indian Elections was launched to create awareness about election election-related processes and useful terms. Wordplay with ECI was launched to engage voters and make them identify election-related terms. The Sawal Jawab series was launched to answer the relevant questions of the voters related to the election process. Polls and Pixels series was launched to present a visual journey of the Indian Elections from the very onset.

Verify Before You Amplify:

This initiative has been launched to combat fake news and misinformation. CEC Rajiv Kumar, during his press conference, urged people to exercise caution while propagating any news related to the election. This proactive measure aims to empower citizens to verify the accuracy and authenticity of content before amplifying it, thereby mitigating the spread of false information and safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
