Changes have been made to the parking system at the Muzaffarpur railway station premises. A new contract for the station's mixed parking has been awarded through an e-auction by the Samastipur division of East Central Railway.
As soon as the contract came into effect, new parking rates for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers were implemented in the station premises. Therefore, it has become essential for passengers visiting the station to check the rate list before parking.

According to railway documents, this contract was awarded after the e-auction process was completed on December 22, 2025. The period of parking operation has been set from January 15, 2026, to January 14, 2029. This means that parking fees will be collected according to this rate for the next three years.
The total value of the contract has been set at over Rs 5.31 crore. According to railway records, the contract for parking operations has been awarded to Kaushal Buildcon Private Limited, Patna. The contract was awarded by the Samastipur division (Commercial Branch) of East Central Railway.
The company will operate the parking near the Combined Terminal Building (CTB) located on the station premises. According to the railway, a total area of 1,770.30 square metres has been designated for parking in the station premises.
* For two-wheelers: 482.11 square metres
* For three and four-wheelers: 1,288.19 square metres
This parking area is located in the station's circulating area, which is classified under the NSG-2 category. According to railway officials, the new rates have been implemented in accordance with the contract terms.
The objective is to operate the parking system in the station premises in an organised manner and to improve the flow of vehicles. Passengers have been urged to check the prescribed rate list before parking their vehicles.
