Yash-starrer Toxic is all set to hit the theatres. The bulletin centres on the controversy surrounding the teaser of Yash’s much-anticipated upcoming film Toxic and the questions being raised about its censor clearance. According to sources within the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), as reported by India Today, no part of the film has been certified so far. Officials clarified that the teaser in question was released exclusively on digital platforms, which means it does not fall under the mandatory certification process of the censor board. As a result, the CBFC has not reviewed or cleared the teaser, nor has it been formally submitted to them.
According to reports, the makers of Toxic are yet to present the film itself, its trailer, or any other promotional material to the board for certification, indicating that the project is still at an early stage in terms of regulatory approvals.
At the same time, the teaser has sparked objections from political and social groups. The women’s wing of the Aam Aadmi Party in Karnataka has reportedly filed a formal complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, raising concerns over what they describe as objectionable content in the teaser. The complaint alleges that certain scenes, including an intimate moment and depictions of violence, are inappropriate and could send the wrong message.
In light of these concerns, the women’s wing has urged authorities to take note of the content being circulated on digital platforms and has sought warnings, scrutiny, or a review of such material on social media.
