In a shocking incident, a young man from Muzaffarpur was brutally assaulted after being called to his girlfriend’s house under the pretext of arranging their marriage. The man, a resident of Chhoti Kalyani, is currently in police custody and undergoing medical treatment for a head injury.
According to reports, the incident took place at the woman’s residence on Sahu Road. The victim had been in a relationship with her for some time, but her family, who became aware of the affair two months ago, had opposed it and warned him to end all contact. Despite this, the couple continued to stay in touch.

On Monday, the young man and his mother were invited to the woman’s home by her father. However, upon arrival, the man was locked inside a room and allegedly beaten with rods and sticks by family members, leaving him seriously injured. A crowd of residents gathered outside as the assault took place.
Following the attack, the woman’s family informed the police, who arrived at the spot, took the youth into custody, and arranged medical assistance.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Town Police Station, Sharat Kumar, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is underway and action will be taken accordingly.
