Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Scheme Installment: In the latest development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday transferred an amount of Rs 10,000 to the accounts of 10 lakh women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgaar Yojna.
CM Nitish transferred nearly Rs 1,000 crore through DBT into the accounts. The scheme was announced by the Bihar government before the assembly elections and is widely considered to have proven a game-changer for the ruling NDA government in polls.
The opposition parties, including Congress, RJD, and others, have accused the government of using the money as a tool to sway the results. The opposition calls it the biggest reason for their loss and has raised questions on the Election Commission of India, for allegedly turning a blind eye to the money transfer.
The Bihar government provides the money to women who are involved in small enterprises and starting their own businesses. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself transferred money directly through DBT to the bank accounts of 9.50 lakh women from rural areas and 50 thousand women from urban areas associated with Jeevika group.
