Just days after the much-awaited Patna Metro opened its doors to the public, a controversy has surfaced are people sneaking into the metro without tickets? A viral video circulating on social media appears to show passengers, including children, slipping under turnstiles at a Patna Metro station to travel for free. With the video gaining traction online, it sparked outrage and raised concerns over fare evasion and security.

However, the Patna Metro Rail Corporation has firmly debunked these claims, calling the video misleading and unrelated to any of their stations.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the official Patna Metro handle posted, "This is Bihar’s Pride, Not a Rumour! See how Patna Metro is serving people with safety, order, and comfort —
- Tickets at counters
- Smooth entry through AFC gates
- Families travelling with ease
Don’t believe fake viral clips — believe what you see here!"

Along with the statement, the Metro authority also shared images showing orderly ticketing and secure entry points at functioning metro stations.

They clarified that the viral footage is not from any Patna Metro facility and urged the public to refrain from promoting or believing such unverified content. "A video widely shared on social media claims passengers are passing under/through AFC barriers and travelling without tickets at Patna Metro. This claim is false. The footage is not from any Patna Metro station," the post added.

The Patna Metro also emphasised its robust infrastructure, which includes Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems, constant CCTV surveillance, and strict security checks. Officials warned that circulating baseless videos not only misleads the public but also undermines confidence in a project aimed at transforming urban mobility in Bihar.
