Patna Metro Update: In a major relief to the commuters, the Patna metro is soon likely to start operation, as the last trial is set to be conducted on September 29. The Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) officials stated that the operation is expected to commence in the first week of October. In a review meeting on Saturday, the top officials discussed the progress of construction of three priority stations—New ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath Road—and preparations for the upcoming metro inauguration. The authority stated that the metro operation will provide relief to the passengers of Patna by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion.
While providing details, the officials stated that the Patna Metro will conduct its final trial run on September 29. Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) Janak Kumar Garg will conduct a final trial run of the metro racks and inspect the stations and metro line. The officials also stated that the operation will start after receiving the approval from the CMRS. The authority also informed that the expansion plan was also discussed in the meeting to improve the regional connectivity.

Patna Metro: PMRCL provides details
- The trains will operate between 8 am and 10 pm for 14 hours.
- Metro will be available at every station at an interval of every 20 minutes.
- Trains will make 40 to 42 trips daily.
- The fare from New ISBT to Zero Mile will be Rs 15
- The fare between New ISBT and Bhootnath Road will be Rs 30.
- 147 passengers will be able to travel sitting and 945 passengers standing.
- 12 seats will be reserved for women and disabled people in each train.
- There will be mobile and laptop charging facilities in the metro coaches.
- Patna Metro's two corridors, Red Line (16.86 km) and Blue Line (14.56 km), will have a total of 24 stations.
