The Patna Metro project is set to pick up, with two to three trial runs planned on the priority corridor by the end of this month. According to Urban Development Minister Jibesh Mishra, the government is working expeditiously to transform Patna into a metro city. Speaking to journalists at a private hotel in Patna on Sunday, Mishra expressed confidence in the project's progress, Jagran.com reported.
The Patna Metro project has reached a significant milestone with the arrival of metro bogies in the city. According to the Urban Development Minister, all preparations for the trial run have been completed, and two to three trial runs will be conducted on the Priority Corridor in July.
The minister assured that the trial runs will be conducted in accordance with all safety standards. He emphasised that safety is being given top priority in the Patna Metro project, and modern technologies are being used to ensure a safe and efficient metro system.
Trial Runs To Pave Way For Next Phase
After the trial runs, the project will move to the next phase once all processes meet the safety standards. The minister expressed confidence that the metro project will play an important role in easing traffic and reducing congestion in Patna.
Metro Project To Boost Employment Opportunities
The minister assured that the work of the metro will be completed in a timely manner, highlighting that the project will not only improve the traffic system of Patna but also increase employment opportunities.
The two to three trial runs will be conducted on the 6.5 km long Priority Corridor, which stretches from Malahi Pakadi to Pataliputra Bus Terminal/New ISBT. This corridor is part of the Blue Line (Corridor-2) and consists of five stations: Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Zero Mile, and New ISBT.

Patna Metro: Operational Timeline
The Blue Line (Corridor-2) is expected to become operational from August 15, 2025. The successful completion of the trial runs will be a significant step towards achieving this deadline.
