In a shocking incident reported from the Rajiv Nagar police station area, a 25-year-old woman was brutally murdered late Monday night. The victim, identified as Priyanka Kumari, was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a brick at her rented residence on Road Number 25.

Incident Details

The deceased lived with her husband, Meghnath Sah, and their seven-year-old son. According to the Rajiv Nagar Station House Officer, the incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the husband reported the matter to the Town Outpost (TOP).

Husband’s Statement

Meghnath Sah, a painter originally from Samastipur, has recorded a formal statement with the police, accusing two of his friends of involvement in the crime.

According to Meghnath’s account, he had gone to visit two friends residing in the Indrapuri area on Monday night for a party. During the gathering, an argument broke out which escalated into a physical altercation. Meghnath alleged that his friends assaulted him and subsequently locked him inside their room.

He reportedly managed to contact his younger brother for help and escaped the location. Upon booking a bike and returning to his home in Rajiv Nagar, Meghnath discovered his wife, Priyanka, lying in a critically injured state.

Aftermath And Investigation

Meghnath rushed his wife to a nearby hospital, from where she was referred to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS). However, doctors at IGIMS declared her dead upon arrival.

Police officials confirmed that the two accused individuals identified by the husband are residents of Paliganj. Following the report, a team from the Rajiv Nagar police station inspected the crime scene and has launched an investigation. Officers are currently questioning local residents and conducting raids to apprehend the absconding suspects.
