BPSC Protest: Jan Suraj party founder Prashant Kishor was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after his health deteriorated last night. Kishor is on a fast-unto-death at Gandhi Maidan, in support of the protesting aspirants demanding a re-examination of the preliminary BPSC exam, citing several paper leak reports.
Earlier on Monday, Prashant Kishor was arrested by the Bihar police for an "illegal" fast unto death. However, he was later released on an unconditional bail. The state police had arrested him, citing the Patna High Court order that clarifies that any such demonstration in the city is prohibited at a place other than Gardani Bagh locality.
The police added that a case was filed against the founder of Jan Suraj for holding his protest at Gandhi Maidan. Prashant Kishor has been protesting in support of students since January 2 after the students were dispersed by the police using lathi charge and water cannon.
Kishor was produced before a Patna court on the same day in connection with the case, where he was granted bail. However, the court asked Kishor to submit a written undertaking that he will not participate in any "illegal" protest in the future.
However, Kishor's legal team stated that accepting the bail would mean that they have accepted that the protest was illegal. They confirmed that Kishor will not accept the bail and would rather choose to go to jail. Kishor was later released by the authorities in the evening.

"I was taken to the court, and I was granted bail, but in the bail order it was mentioned that I should not do any wrongdoings, so I rejected it and I accepted to go to jail," Kishor told reporters outside the court.
Though the BPSC has confirmed that there is no question of re-examination, the aspirants are reluctant on their demands, stating that the authorities are not able to conduct a single exam in which questions have not been raised.
