Bihar Election 2025: Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj party, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of intimidation, leading to the withdrawal of the nomination of his three candidates. While addressing a press conference in Patna, Kishor urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure the security of the candidates. He further stated that Jan Suraaj will contest the polls with full strength and will uproot the current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. He further stated that the ruling alliance is fearful because of the "good candidates" that the newly formed party has fielded.
"Three Jan Suraaj candidates withdrew their candidature under BJP's pressure. I request Election Commission to ensure security of candidates," Prashant Kishor stated while addressing the presser. "The BJP has built an image in the last few years that no matter who wins elections, it is the BJP that forms the government. A party that once called Jan Suraaj a spoiler and denied our existence is now the one most scared of us," he added.
He further alleged that the Jan Suraaj candidates have been either prevented from filing nominations or were "forced to withdraw" their candidature in the past few days. "They use 'Mahagathbandhan' to create fear among people. Now, people have the option to end the 'political slavery' of Lalu Yadav and the NDA. But, in the last few days, three Jan Suraaj candidates were either prevented from filing nominations or were forced to withdraw their nominations," the Jan Suraaj funder stated.
