Bihar Election 2025: With just a few weeks remaining in the Bihar Assembly election, the conflict between the two key opposition parties, the Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, continues to grow as they are set to face each other on almost five seats in a 'friendly contest'. The candidates from both parties have filed their nomination for these seats as per instructions from the high command, citing their strong presence in the region. While the Mahagathbandhan leaders have claimed that the alliance is "united" and is ready to form a government in the state, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) stated that the opposition is set for a big defeat due to their internal conflicts.

Mahagathbandhan: Friendly Contest On THESE Seats

- Vaishali: While the RJD has fielded Ajay Kushwaha from Vaishali, the Congress has fielded Sanjeev Singh, leading to a clash among the allies.

- Kahalgaon: The seat has been a stronghold of Congress for decades; however, the party this time is not only facing a challenge from the NDA but also from its alliance partner, the RJD.

- Narkatiaganj: While the Congress has fielded Shashwat Kedar Pandey from the seat, the RJD has given the ticket to Deepak Yadav.

- Sultanganj: The alliance partners are set to face each other on this key seat; however, both parties are in talks to field only one candidate for the consolidation of the voters.

In a major relief to the Congress, RJD clarified that it will not field its candidate against Rajesh Ram, Congress' state unit president, putting an end to the speculations. Earlier on Monday, LJP chief Chirag Paswan took a dig at Mahagathbandhan by stating that there should be no friendly contest in any alliance.

"But I have never seen an election where such a big alliance is on the verge of a split. There can be a dispute over the choice of seats, but they have not been able even to decide the number of seats," Paswan stated.
