Summer Special Train 2025: In a bid to avoid rush during summer holidays, Indian Railways will operate a summer special train between Rajgir in Bihar and Anand Vihar, providing relief to passengers. While the train service will commence from April 22, ticket booking has started. 

The service will operate from 22 April 2025 to 11 July, to ensure the smooth and comfortable journey for passengers during the hot summer months.

The Train Will Operate Twice A Week

Departing from Anand Vihar on every Tuesday and Friday, the train will operate only two days a week. Moreover, the special train will not contain sleeper or general coaches and will only have air-conditioned coaches, including first, second and third AC coaches. 

Summer Special Train Between Rajgir And Anand Vihar: Timings And Route

The train will depart from Anand Vihar as train number 04070 at 12:20 midnight and will arrive at Rajgir railway station at 7:50 pm on the same day, passing through several key stations, including Bihar Sharif, Bakhtiyarpur Junction, Patna Junction, Ara, Buxar, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Prayagraj, and Govindpur Junction.

On the return journey, the train will depart from Rajgir railway station as train number 04069 at 9:45 pm and will arrive at Anand Vihar railway station at 7 pm the next day. 

Rajgir-Anand Vihar Summer Special Train: Fare

The Indian Railways will charge Rs 1,785 per person for 3rd AC, the fare for 2AC, and 1AC has been fixed Rs 2,440 per person and Rs 3,830 per person respectively. The fare for this summer special train is higher than the Shramjeevi Express, which runs from Rajgir to New Delhi. The fare for the Shramjeevi Express is:

- 3AC: Rs 1,435 per person

- 2AC: Rs 2,045 per person

- 1AC: Rs 3,455 per person

How The Special Train Will Boost Rajgir's Rail Connectivity

This summer special train is part of a recent surge in rail connectivity for Rajgir, which has received four pairs of trains in just one month. The city now has improved rail links, including the Rajgir Haridwar Special, Rajgir Udhampur Special, and Rajgir Anand Vihar Special. Local residents have welcomed this development, which is expected to enhance travel convenience and boost tourism in the region.
