Delhi RRTS Update: The Delhi Traffic Police has alerted commuters about closure of the Barapulla flyover for over a week. As a result, Delhi-NCR residents may have to face traffic on adjacent routes. The closure has been announced to facilitate construction work for the Delhi–Meerut RRTS (Rapid Rail) project till April 25.

As per the officials, big steel beams will be installed above the Barapulla flyover. The construction will take place from April 15 to April 25 from 12 noon to 5 am. The work will be carried out by Afcons Infrastructure Limited.The Barapulla flyover closure is going to affect several key stretches in Delhi, including Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, ISBT, Sarai Kale Khan and others.

“In view of steel girder erection work for the Delhi–Meerut RRTS Corridor above Barapulla Flyover, traffic diversions will be in place on Barapulla Road (both carriageways) from 15.04.2025 to 25.04.2025 between 12:00 AM to 05:00 AM. Key stretches between Sarai Kale Khan and DND to AIIMS and from AIIMS, INA & Lodhi Road to DND & Akshardham via Barapulla Flyover will be affected,” said the Delhi Traffic Police in a post on X.

Delhi RRTS Update: Following Diversions Will Be In Place

Sarai Kale Khan/DND towards AIIMS:

Take Ring Road via Maharani Bagh, Sundial, and Siddhartha Extension. From there, go to Lala Lajpat Rai Marg to reach AIIMS.

AIIMS/INA/Lodhi Road towards Akshardham, Greater Noida, or DND:

Use Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and Ring Road to avoid traffic jams.

Commuters heading towards ISBT, Sarai Kale Khan, DND, AIIMS, or nearby places — plan ahead.
