A social media post by the Congress party, which controversially linked "Bihar" to "bidi", has triggered a strong political reaction from politicians across the state. The post has now been deleted but the uproar continues.

The post stated, "'Bidi' and 'Bihar' both start with 'B'," and suggested that after the central government reduced the GST (Goods and Services Tax) on it, it could no longer be considered a "sin." Though the post is gone, the political furor is growing, with several leaders accusing the Congress of insulting the state and its people.

Tejashwi Yadav Calls For An Apology

Reacting to the controversy, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that an apology is necessary. "If anything objectionable has been said, then an apology must certainly be given," he stated.

Bihar Ministers Slam "Hateful" Post

Leaders from Bihar's ruling coalition launched scathing attacks on the Congress for its post.

Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary said, "The Congress party harbors hatred for the people of Bihar. Just because the GST on bidis was reduced, they are equating 'B' with 'Bidi' and 'Bihari.' Perhaps they have forgotten that Bihar is the land of great figures like Emperor Ashoka, Aryabhata, and Chanakya. Guru Gobind Singh was also born here."

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary attacked the party, saying, "First, they insulted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, and now they are insulting Bihar. This exposes the real character of the Congress party."

"B Is For Buddhi (Intellect), Not Bidi"

JDU's Working President, Sanjay Jha, called the post "another extremely shameful act." In a sharp retort, he told the Congress, "Let me remind you that 'B' is not just for 'Bidi' but also for 'Buddhi' (intellect), which you severely lack! 'B' is also for 'Budget,' and it pains you when Bihar receives special assistance in it."

Sanjay added that by stooping to the level of mocking Bihar, the Congress has not only insulted the people of the state once again but has also "made a mockery of the nation's glorious history and democracy."
