Bihar Election Results: Amid speculations over Jan Suraaj's future plans after massive defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls, the party's national president Uday Singh on Saturday stated that Prashant Kishor will continue to raise the key issues of Bihar. He stated that the party is introspecting the possible reasons behind the defeat even after a solid campaign and Kishor's popularity, especially among the youth. Singh further stated that several factors, including beneficiary schemes for women and fear of return of an alleged "jungleraaj" could be the main reasons behind NDA's landslide victory. Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj failed to win even a single seat out of the total 243 Assembly constituencies, a major setback for the party.
Singh asserted that the Jan Suraaj will not leave until a change is established in Bihar, adding that the party will raise key issues as an opposition. "Certainly, he (Prashant Kishor) will continue to be there (in Bihar). We didn't enter politics at the behest of JD(U); we won't leave at their behest either. We can think of leaving only when we feel that a change has set in in Bihar," Singh stated at a Press Conference. Prashant Kishor is likely to address a press conference regarding party's poor performance on Sunday.
While addressing the presser, the Jan Suraaj president also stated that the voters of Jan Suraaj shifted to the NDA due to fear of a possible return of RJD, leading to the poor law and order. "I can say there was fear of the return of jungle raj under the RJD. Although I am not saying that there has been any jungle raj, the fear was there," Singh stated.
"Many people, who would have given us a chance, ended up voting for the NDA out of that fear," said Singh, the former BJP MP. He added, "Let me make a distinction here. I am saying people had a problem with RJD, not with the Congress or other constituents of the opposition Mahagathbandhan," he added. Earlier while campaigning, Kishor had emphasised that either Jan Suraaj will win above 150 seats, or it will be limited to less than 10 seats.
