About 88 per cent of professionals are considering a new job this year amid increased competition, a report said Wednesday.
According to a LinkedIn report, of the total 42 per cent have a desire for a better work-life balance and 37 per cent are looking for higher pay in a challenging economic environment. These two are the top reasons for considering changing jobs.
The LinkedIn report is based on research conducted by the Census on 1,097 professionals in full-time or part-time employment across India between November 24 and December 12, 2023.
The report revealed that nearly 88 per cent of professionals in the country are considering a new job in 2024, the number is up by 4 per cent from last year.

They are also keen to explore new career paths and 8 in 10 (79 per cent) Indian professionals interviewed said they are looking for opportunities outside their industry or role.
About 72 per cent of professionals interviewed said they have changed their approach to the job search, experimenting with new formats like video and digital resumes.
Employees show interest in using AI
The report added that they are also keen to use AI and nearly 81 per cent of professionals say it can help make their job search more efficient and productive.
The report states that more than 79 per cent of professionals are posting more content on LinkedIn and 83 per cent are more active in expanding their professional network.
LinkedIn India career expert and senior managing editor Nirjita Banerjee said that to be successful in their job search, professionals should dedicate time to enhance their profiles, highlight their skills and stay abreast of industry developments.
