Automobile sales data in July 2024: Automobile makers like Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, and Kirloskar Toyota have released their July sales numbers. Bajaj Auto said that it has reported an 11 percent growth in vehicle wholesale numbers, while Tata Motors has reported a decline of 11 percent in sales on a year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, Kirloskar Toyota has a whooping 44 percent year-on-year growth in sales.
Bajaj Auto Sales in July
The company said on Thursday that Bajaj Auto's total vehicle wholesale sales, including exports, increased 11 percent year-on-year to 3,54,169 units in July. The Pune-based automaker sold 3,19,747 two-wheelers and commercial vehicles in July 2023, it said in a statement. Total domestic sales (including commercial vehicles) increased 18 percent to 2,10,997 units last month, as against 1,79,263 units sold in the same month last year.
Total exports rose 2 percent to 1,43,172 units in the month under review, as against 1,40,484 units in the year-ago period.
Tata Motors Sales in July
Tata Motors' total sales declined 11 percent year-on-year to 71,996 units in July, the company said on Thursday.
Tata Motors said that it had sold 80,633 units in July 2023. Total domestic sales last month declined 11 percent to 70,161 units from 78,844 units in the year-ago period.
In addition, sales of passenger vehicles, including electric cars, in the domestic market declined 6 percent to 44,954 units from 47,689 units in the year-ago period. Commercial vehicle sales declined 18 percent to 27,042 units in July from 32,944 units in the year-ago period.
Toyota Vehicle Sales in July
Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Thursday reported a 44 percent year-on-year increase in its total wholesale sales to 31,656 units in July. The company said its monthly sales were the highest ever. The automaker reported dispatches of 21,911 units for both domestic and exports in the same month last year.
