Bank Holidays In December:  Nowadays,  A decent number of bank customers are using mobile or internet banking. But, still, there are some works that need your physical presence in the bank and we all know we can visit the bank on working days only. Keeping this in mind, today we bring you information about the bank holidays in the month of December so that you can plan your bank visit accordingly. However, some of these holidays will be applicable in the entire country and some holidays will be applicable in specific states

December has many scheduled bank holidays and as per media reports, there may be a 6-day bank strike in the month as well. 

Bank Holidays in December 2023

Banks in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland will remain closed on State Inauguration Day on 1 December 2023. Banks will remain closed on 3rd December due to Sunday. There will be a holiday on December 4 due to the Feast of St. Francis Xavier.

Banks in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on 5th December due to Sheikh Abdullah Jayanti. 9th December is the second Saturday and hence there will be a bank holiday. Banks will remain closed on 10th December due to Sunday.

Bank operations will remain closed in Meghalaya on the 12th of December due to Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma. Due to Losung and Namsung, all banks in Sikkim will remain closed on 13 December 2023.

17th December is Sunday and on this day there will be a holiday for all banks across India. There will be a holiday in all banks of Meghalaya on December 18, the death anniversary of U Sosotham. All banks of Goa will remain closed on 19th December for Liberation Day.

23rd December is the fourth Saturday of the month and banks will remain closed because the second and fourth Saturdays are bank holidays. Banks across India will remain closed on the 24th and 25th of December (24th is Sunday and the 25th is Christmas Day). This will be a long weekend holiday for those working in banks.

All India Bank Employees Association has announced a 6-day nationwide strike in the month of December. Banks will be on strike on different days and their work will come to a standstill.

Punjab National Bank, Punjab Sindh Bank, and State Bank of India will remain closed on 4th December. Whereas on December 5, the functioning of Bank of Baroda and Bank of India will remain halted.

6th December, no work will be done on this day due to strikes in the Central Bank of India and Canara Bank. Indian Bank and UCO Bank will remain closed on 7th December.

Union Bank of India and Bank of Maharashtra’s employees will be on strike on 8th December. On December 11, all private banks are going on strike and no work will be done in them.
