Bank Holidays September 2025: Banks in different parts of the country will be shut over the next four days for festivals, as well as the weekend holidays. In Jaipur, the banks will be closed on the occasion of Navratri. In West Bengal, Tripura, and some parts of Assam, banks will be closed owing to the Durga Puja festival.

People who have some pending work in the bank need to visit the branches accordingly so that their work can be completed on time without any delays or last-minute issues.

Full List Of Bank Holiday Starting September 22

Here is the complete list of holidays starting September 22 (including the mandatory weekend holidays), along with the areas where they will be closed:

- September 22 (Monday)- All banks will be shut in Jaipur as the city will celebrate Navratra Sthapna, marking the beginning of Navratri celebrations among Hindus.

- September 23 (Tuesday)- All public and private banks across will remain shut in Jammu and Srinagar in celebration of the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, the last ruling monarch of Jammu & Kashmir.

- September 29 (Monday)- It is an RBI-mandated bank holiday for Agartala, Kolkata and Guwahati in observance of Maha Saptami, which is the seventh day of the Durga Puja festival, celebrated in the Hindu month of Ashwin.

- September 30 (Tuesday)- Multiple cities, including Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi, will observe bank closures due to Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami, the eighth day of the Hindu festival of Durga Puja and Navratri.

- Saturday holidays- Pan-India on September 13 and 27.

- Sunday holidays- Across India on September 7, 14, 21, 28.

What Remains Closed on Banking Holidays?

All offline banking tasks that require an in-person visit remain closed on these banking holidays. Fortunately, most of the work related to banking can be completed using the online banking systems. The ATM services and the UPI services are also expected to run as usual without any stoppages. 

The Reserve Bank of India has announced these bank holidays on its official website and through notifications to other financial institutions.
