The Delhi High Court on Tuesday imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on Bharat Pe's former MD and co-founder Ashneer Grover for sharing inappropriate posts about BharatPe. Despite assuring the court that he would not make such a post, he did so. following which, the court imposed a fine on Ashneer Grover.
Earlier on November 24, Resilient Innovation, the parent company of fintech BharatPe, filed a new case in the Delhi High Court, alleging that Ashneer Grover disclosed 'confidential information' about the firm. Earlier, BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover shared information on Platform X regarding the distribution of equity and secondary components included in the company's Series E funding round.
The funding round was led by Tiger Global with participation from Dragoneer Investor Group and other participants. Earlier, Ashneer Grover had appeared before the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police for questioning in an alleged fraud case. The development came after a status report by the EOW revealed links between eight HR consultancy firms and relatives of Grover's wife Madhuri Jain.
