In an attempt to provide smoother services to employees, the government has digitised services related to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). This means that EPFO members can now directly view key documents related to their PF account through the DigiLocker app.
Additionally, users can even check their PF balance and download documents like UAN card, Pension Payment Order (PPO), and PF certificate through this app. Earlier, all these features were available on the UMANG app.
Step-By-Step Process Of Checking PF Balance Through The DigiLocker App:
Step 1: Download (available on the Play Store and App Store) and install the DigiLocker application.
Step 2: If you are using the app for the first time, then please register and log in to your account.
Step 3: After the login process is completed, link yout EPFO account with the DigiLocker.
Step 4: Enter Aadhaar card details to complete the linking.
Step 5: After this, the PF account will be synced with the DigiLocker.
Once the syncing process is complete, users can access the EPFO section to view their documents, including the UAN card, PPO, and PF passbook. They can also check their latest PF balance and transaction history directly within the app.
Alternative Methods To Check PF Balance
Employees can check their PF balance using alternative methods such as missed calls or SMS. To retrieve PF account details via SMS, send a message from the mobile number linked to your UAN. Simply type “EPFOHO” and send it to 7738299899. Within moments, your PF balance and account information will be delivered directly to your mobile phone, providing a quick and hassle-free way to stay updated on your retirement savings.
