In the monthly revision in line with international oil price trends, jet fuel, or ATF, prices were raised by 1.45 per cent and rates of commercial LPG used in hotels and restaurants were increased by Rs 16.5 per 19-kg cylinder. While the jet fuel price was increased by Rs 1,318.12 per kilolitre to Rs 91,856.84 in Delhi, the revised price of ATF for Mumbai was Rs 85,861.02 per kilolitre.
This is the fifth consecutive month in which commercial LPG prices were increased, citing the international oil price trends. In the last revision on November 1, the price was hiked by Rs 62 per 19-kg cylinder. The rates are now at their highest level in one year as the commercial LPG rates have been hiked by Rs 172.5 per 19-kg cylinder. Earlier, there were four monthly reductions in the rates of commercial LPG cylinders prior to the current cycle. The overall price had been cut by Rs 148 per 19-kg cylinder in the four months.
The rates of the commercial LPG cylinders and ATF vary from state to state, as it depends on several factors, including local taxes such as VAT. Upon revision, the rate of commercial LPG in Mumbai is now Rs 1771 per 19-kg cylinder, Rs 1,927 in Kolkata, and Rs 1,980 in Chennai. However, there are no changes in the prices of cooking gas used in domestic households, as it remained unchanged at Rs 803 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

State-owned fuel retailers stated that the aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price was increased to Rs 91,856.84 per kl in Delhi. This is the second consecutive month that witnessed a price hike as the rates were increased by Rs 2,941.5 per kl (3.3 per cent) on November 1. ATF price on October 1 was cut by 6.3 per cent (Rs 5,883 per kl) and by Rs 4,495.5 per kl, or 4.58 per cent on September 1.
