Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, vowed to hold himself accountable for making India the world’s third-largest economy during his third term. He expressed satisfaction with the steady progress being made toward this ambitious goal. PM Modi highlighted that the government has successfully steered India out of major crises, transforming it into a beacon of growth and development. He noted that reviving the economy was their greatest challenge when they assumed power in 2014.

Addressing a post-budget conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Prime Minister stated that global investors are closely monitoring India's growth trajectory. He urged the domestic industry to seize this "golden opportunity" to contribute to the nation's development. Modi assured that his administration has the political will and commitment to make decisions with a "nation-first approach."
He pointed out that India’s economy is currently growing at approximately 8 per cent annually and is on track to surpass its current position as the fifth-largest economy. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that India will achieve the status of the third-largest economy within his third term.
"Today, the whole world is looking at India and you. The policies of the government and commitment and investment are becoming the foundation of global development. Investors across the world are keen to come to India. World leaders are filled with positivity for India. This is the golden chance for the Indian industry and we should not lose this opportunity," Modi said as quoted by PTI.
PM Modi also highlighted several budget measures designed to boost the MSME sector, which he noted generates millions of jobs. He urged the industry to partner with the government in positioning India as a global leader, especially in emerging sectors.
Reiterating his government’s unwavering resolve, Modi affirmed that their commitment to key national objectives, such as achieving a USD 5 trillion economy, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and a developed India, remains resolute.
