Gold Prices Today: Rates of the precious yellow metal reached a record high at the MCX as the auspicious Dhanteras festival approaches. The recent spike in the prices of gold is due to a festive seasonal demand of gold, added to a US-China standoff. 

The gold rates at the Multi-Commodity Exchange Rate opened Rs 659 above (0.52 per cent) over the previous rate, which closed at Rs 1,26,256. It later surged to touch the fresh all-time high of Rs 1,27,500. Last seen, it was trading at Rs 1,26,726 with a jump of Rs 478 or 0.37 per cent.

At the international market, the COMEX gold price gained around 0.97 per cent, opening at approximately USD 4203.6 per ounce. The spot gold price in the morning was USD 4,182.38 per ounce, a gain of 0.85 per cent.

Silver Prices

Similarly, silver prices maturing on December 5, 2025, opened with a gain of Rs 296 or 18 per cent at Rs 1,59,800 (per kg) on the MCX. Later, it reached a high of Rs 1,61,418 during the intraday trade in the morning. Last, it was recorded at 1,60,577- a gain of Rs 1,073 from the previous close.
