IEC 3.0 will be implemented as a new project. The objective of this project is to adopt high-speed IT technology to speed up the process of verifying and processing ITRs, as well as issuing refunds.

A committee has been formed, which will collate all the feedback, suggestions and ideas, and make necessary changes to the portal based on this information.

Tax experts say that the current IEC 2.0 system often suffers from technical problems. The portal slows down due to increased traffic. The site also crashes sometimes. This causes problems for taxpayers, and many end up missing the deadline for filing their returns.

IEC Project

This project provides taxpayers with an e-filing platform, through which they can file online income tax returns from anywhere. This platform also has facilities to download other forms related to tax matters and use other services. Taxpayers can also download their old ITR forms.
