MCX Share Price: Shares of Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) fell nearly 12 per cent in afternoon trade on Tuesday as December quarter earnings failed to cheer investors. The MCX stock fell 12 per cent to trade below the Rs 5,350 per share mark on the NSE. While the shares of the commodity exchange platform fell 11.37 per cent on the BSE.

At around 1:47 pm, the stock was showing some recovering path as it was trading at Rs 5,633.0, down 6.54 per cent against the previous day's closing price. In the morning the MCX shares opened at Rs 5,950.0 per share and plunged to hit intraday low at Rs 5,301.30. Meanwhile, the 52-week high and low of the stock stood at Rs 7,048.60 and 2,917.85 per share respectively. 

Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex fell 712.34 points, or 0.92 per cent, to trade at 76,361.10 in midday trade, while the NSE Nifty fell 33.15 points to trade at 23,311.60 level.

MCX Q3 Result

On Monday, MCX reported a quarterly profit of Rs 160.04 crore for the December quarter of FY25 as against a loss of Rs 5.35 crore in the same period last year, on account of a rise in revenue and a reduction in operating expenses.

Total income of India's largest non-agricultural commodity derivatives exchange rose to Rs 324.36 crore from Rs 209.26 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The expense of the exchange declined to Rs 123.03 crore as against Rs 222.25 crore in the previous year, it said.
