Minimum Support Price for Paddy: The union government on Wednesday raised the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy by 3 per cent to Rs 2,369 per quintal for the 2025-26 kharif marketing season. The government has also revised prices for other kharif crops like cotton, Ragi and others as well. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided in this respect.
For the upcoming kharif season of the 2025–2026 crop year (July–June), the support price for common and A grade varieties has been raised by Rs 69 per quintal to Rs 2,369 and Rs 2,389 per quintal, respectively.
MSP For Other Kharif Crops
The MSP for urad and moong has increased by Rs 400 to Rs 7,800 per quintal and Rs 86 to Rs 8768 per quintal, respectively, for the 2025–26 kharif marketing season, while the support price for tur has increased by Rs 450 to Rs 8,000 per quintal.

It is advised that nigerseed (Rs 820 per quintal) has the largest absolute increase in MSP over the past year, followed by ragi (Rs 596 per quintal), cotton (Rs 589 per quintal), and sesamum (Rs 579 per quintal). The increase in MSP for kharif crops for the 2025–2026 marketing season is consistent with the Union Budget 2018–19 announcement that the MSP should be fixed at a level that is at least 1.5 times the weighted average cost of production for all of India. The highest expected margin to farmers over their cost of production is predicted to be for bajra (63%), followed by maize (59%), tur (59%), and urad (53%).
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed reporters that the government has raised the Kharif crop MSP for 2025–2026 in order to guarantee growers receive fair prices for their produce.
The Union Budget 2018–19 announced that the MSP would be fixed at a level at least 1.5 times the All-India weighted average cost of production, which is consistent with the increase in the kharif crops support price for 2025–2026.
