Petrol And Diesel Price Today March 23: Check Fuel Prices In Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram And Other Metro Cities Here

PETROL and Diesel Price Today: Fuel prices remained unchanged across all the metro cities in India on Thursday (March 23), according to the latest price notification issued by fuel retailers. In the national capital, the price of one litre of Petrol and diesel cost Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 respectively. 

Oil prices fell today following three sessions of gains, after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reiterated his commitment to curb inflation, and hinted at further rate hikes in future.

Brent crude futures declined 1%, to $75.89 per barrel by 00:09 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) fell 1.2%, to $70.06.

On Wednesday, the two crude benchmarks settled at their highest close since March 14. 

In Mumbai, petrol is selling at Rs 106.31 and diesel cost is Rs 94.27. Meanwhile, in Chennai, petrol and diesel are selling at Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 per litre each. Petrol and diesel prices are not the same across all the cities in India. Fuel prices vary from state to state due to several variables, like the Value Added Tax (VAT) levied, freight costs, municipal taxes, etc. 

Oil prices have followed a downward trend in 2023. In the last three months, Brent Crude has fallen by almost 7%. 

A decline in crude oil prices is positive news for India, as it largely depends on imports (over 88%) to fulfil its energy requirement. A fall in crude oil prices is seen to ease the burden on the Indian government as it cuts its spending on crude imports and foreign exchange reserves, which provides some relaxation to the widening current account deficit.

Bengaluru: Petrol Price: Rs 101.94 per litre, Diesel Price: Rs 87.89 per litre

Lucknow: Petrol price: Rs 96.57 per litre, Diesel price: Rs 89.76 per litre

Noida: Petrol price: Rs 96.79 per litre, Diesel price: Rs Rs 89.96 per litre

Gurugram: Petrol price: Rs 97.18 per litre, Diesel price: Rs 90.05 per litre.

Kolkata: Petrol price: Rs 106.03 per litre, Diesel price: Rs 92.76 per litre

Chandigarh: Petrol price: Rs 96.20 per litre, Diesel price: Rs 84.26 per litre.
