Stock Market Today: The domestic stock exchanges opened over 2% higher against their previous session's closing value on Tuesday amid a rally in global markets after US President Trump signalled to bring some relief in tariffs on electronics products. Sensex, the 30 share index of BSE, opened at 76,852.06, surging over 15,00 Points, while Nifty 50, the NSE's index, started trade at 23,368.25, soaring over 500 points or 2%.

From the Sensex pack, Tata Motors surged over 5%, while Mahindra and Mahindra, L&T, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Adani Airports, Axis Banks, ICICI Bank, Ethernal (Zomato) were top gainers. Meanwhile, ITC, Nestle India, and Hindustan Unilever were trading in negative territory. According to NSE's data, 2,229 stocks were trading in the green, while shares of 230 companies declined. Meanwhile, 30 stocks hit upper-circuit on NSE.  

International market: In Asian markets, South Korea's Kospi index, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index traded higher, while Shanghai's SSE Composite index lost ground. US markets closed with gains on Monday.

According to Markenz data, foreign institutional investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,519.03 crore on Friday. Global benchmark Brent crude rose 0.09 per cent to US$64.94 a barrel.

The Sensex on Friday rose 1,310.11 points, or 1.77 per cent, to 75,157.26. The Nifty rose 429.40 points, or 1.92 per cent, to 22,828.55. Domestic equity markets closed on Monday on the occasion of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti.

Asian market continued the rally for the second consecutive day this week on Tuesday. The gaining momentum came after the strong performance of tech stocks on Wall Street and US President Donald Trump's hint that he may reduce tariffs on smartphones and computers. Also, Trump's statement on providing assistance to automakers also boosted the mood of investors.
