UPI Lite:  Nowadays, people use digital payment for even small tasks. As a result, the popularity of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has increased significantly among people. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) continues to add new features to the UPI to make it more user-friendly and UPI lite is the latest addition to it. The most important aspect is that it can be used without the Internet and you can also use it on keypad mobile phones.

UPI Lite Features

The most important aspect is that customers do not need the internet to transfer money in UPI Lite as it works on the on-device wallet feature. In this, customers can transfer small amounts in real-time without the internet. UPI Lite can be used on the BHIM app and Paytm. Currently, a total of eight banks allow the use of the UPI Lite feature. You can transfer up to Rs 4000 in 24 hours using UPI Lite. There is no limit to the number of transactions.

While transferring money through UPI, customers need a 6 or 4-digit PIN. However, in UPI Lite, money can be transferred without a PIN as well. The service is beneficial for places with fewer or poor networks such as flights, parking, and trekking points.

How to use UPI using the BHIM app

- To use UPI Lite on the BHIM app, first open the app and go to the UPI Lite X Balance option. and, click on the Enable button.

- Next, to make an offline transaction, click on the permission box and then Enable Now. then, you have to add money to your UPI Lite wallet. and then, click on Enable UPI Lite X again.

Now, You can use UPI Lite.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has designed it in collaboration with the NPCI. Customers like UPI Lite very much. Currently, this country is valid on the debit of about 8 banks.
