At a time when a lot of players are taking small steps in age-group cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has broken a lot of records while playing with senior players. Post becoming the youngest player to have an IPL contract, Suryavanshi had broken the record of being the youngest centurion in the history of this format.
After IPL 2025, Vaibhav has played against teams like England and Australia at the U19 level and has been scoring runs across formats. He has also become a fan's favourite as the fans take selfies with him, whether in India or overseas.
Irrespective of the fame and success, Suryavanshi is still grounded, according to ex-India cricketer Vikram Rathour.
“He’s (Suryavanshi) got a hundred in England, he’s got a hundred in Australia. And you see what he can do in T20 cricket (IPL). Outstanding for a kid so young," Rathour was quoted as saying to the Times of India.
“He is a prodigy. But the great thing about him is that he’s not flustered at all. It’s not that he scored his hundred and suddenly became a big name in Indian cricket at a young age. Nothing has changed. He’s still so grounded and comfortable with all this suddenly happening around him. That’s a great thing to have," he said.

Zubin Bharucha, who is the Director of high performance at the Rajasthan-based franchise, has revealed that Suryavanshi should be a part of the senior cricket team just like Sachin Tendulkar, who made his debut when he was 16.
“He should be blooded into the senior team immediately, like Sachin was all those years ago. They have to blood this guy immediately, boss, because he is in another zone only. At least send him on an India A tour. Send him to India A immediately. I’m telling you, this Australian attack that is here, bowling to India A guys, he would have got a double hundred," he concluded.
