JE Sports Desk:  England registered a famous victory to bounce back in the ongoing Ashes series as they beat Australia by three wickets to make it 2-1 in the five-match series.

Once again it was the third Test and once again it was Headingley like it happened in the 2019  series, that gave the hosts extra motivation to stand a chance in the series. Skipper Ben Stokes, who was one of the key contributors yet another time, said that he has no doubt his side can pull off a remarkable Ashes comeback after winning a dramatic third Test on Sunday.

"Yep. No hesitation," said Stokes when asked if England can win the series.

"Another down-to-the-wire game. It's nice to get over the line in this one and keep our hopes alive."

England came out to resume their second innings on Day 4 as they got a great start while chasing the target of 251 runs.

Things went the other way in between as England England slumped to 171-6 before Harry Brook (75) and Chris Woakes (32*) put their team back in the commanding position as the latter took his team over the line with a short but crucial partnership with Mark Wood (16*).

Stokes' 155 was not enough as England fell just short in a run chase in the controversial second Test at Lord's last week.

The hosts, however, aiming for a comeback made three changes for the third Test and successfully put the immediate effect in the game.

Woakes and Wood impressed with both bat and ball, while Moeen Ali picked up the key wickets of Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith in Australia's second innings.

"It's great when you make decisions like that and they have a big impact on the team," added Stokes.

"We want people to come in and impact the game in their moment to put us in a commanding position and all three guys did that."

Stokes, who was the hero of Headingley in the 2019 Ashes series, appreciated the crowd and the support his team received during the match.

"We love to come here and play cricket for England. [on the Headingley crowd] Absolutely sensational. The Western Terrace is always amazing. This place has memories that people will always remember and we love playing here," he further said.

The fourth Test of the series will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester from July 19.
