India-A vs Bangladesh-A Semifinal: It all ended up being a bit chaotic towards the end before Bangladesh A defeated India A in the semifinal of the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Friday. On the back of a thrilling win in the Super Over, Bangladesh made it to the final of the tournament.
In the final over of the match, India needed 16 runs, and Ashutosh Sharma kept things alive for his team with a six and a four in the first four deliveries. Ashutosh's dismissal on the fifth ball gave Bangladesh an upper hand, but a complete brainfade moment from their skipper allowed India to take three runs on the final delivery and take the match to the Super Over.

Rakibul Mondal bowled an outside off delivery, and Harsh Dubey mistimed it towards long-on. They ran hard with an aim for the double, but a poor throw made Akbar work hard to grab it. However, while Nehal Wadhera was way out of his crease while attempting a second run, Akbar's hit missed the stumps, and the over-throw gave India a huge survival and a chance to even complete the third run.

The next blunder was made by Jitesh Sharma, who promoted himself in the Super Over ahead of the young Vaibhav Suryavanshi. On the very first delivery of the Super Over, Jitesh attempted a reverse-lap off Ripon Mondol. He completely missed the full delivery and was dismissed for 0. Ashutosh Sharma's dismissal on the very next ball put an end to India's innings without adding a single run.

India got their hopes back as soon as Suyash Sharma dismissed Yasir Ali on the first delivery of the Super Over. He then bowled a wide that just missed the leg stump, and there was a chance for a stumping as well, but that extra run was enough for Bangladesh to get over the line as celebrations began inside the stadium.

"Good game of cricket, good learning for us. I will take all responsibility, as a senior, I should finish the game. It's about the learning, not the losing. You never know, these guys may win the World Cup for India someday. In terms of talent, they're touching the sky. It's all about learning and experience. My wicket was the turning point. I know how to handle these situations," Indian captain Jitesh Sharma said at the post-match presentation.
Bangladesh will face the winner of the Sri Lanka A vs Pakistan A semifinal match in the final on Sunday.
