Bangladesh's former Cricketer Jahanara Alam kicked up a storm in the Cricketing world after she accused former and serving officials of Bangladesh Cricket of sexual harassment. Alam, categorically named Manjurul Islam for harassing her during the 2022 Women's World Cup in South Africa. Notably, Alam narrated her ordeal on a YouTube channel based in Bangladesh.

Jahanara alleged that Islam was unprofessional in his conduct as he made "inappropriate physical contact", claiming he "often hugged or pressed female players to his chest" under the pretext of encouragement. Alam pointed out that the incident took place during the 2022 World Cup.

Islam, in his defence, labelled the allegations as "baseless".

"You can ask other girls in the team", Islam said. "This is all false."

It is worth noting that Alam has also named other BCB officials, stating that she had written about all this to the board but BCB took no action.

Alam is a veteran of 135 white-ball matches for the country, with 48 wickets in ODIs and 60 in T20s.
