Pakistan's tour of Australia faced an embarrassing moment when host broadcasters Fox Cricket displayed racist slur 'PAKI' on the TV ticker instead of PAK during the ongoing four-day match against Prime Minister's XI in Canberra.

Currently, Shan Masood-led Pakistan team is in Australia to play a three-match Test series starting on December 14. Before the commencement of the tour, Pakistan are playing a four-day practice match against the Australian Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

As per Australian cricket journalist Danny Saeed, Cricket Australia (CA) clarified with a statement displaying 'PAKI' on the TV ticker and regretted the inconvenience.

“The graphic was an automatic feed from a data provider which had not been used previously for a Pakistan game. This was obviously regrettable, and the error we corrected manually as soon as it came to light," Saeed quoted Cricket Australia as saying.

'Paki' is a derogatory term for people of Pakistan origin as well as those from the Indian subcontinent. However, the issue was promptly rectified after the netizens raised the issue on social media.

On day 2 of the match, Prime Minister’s XI posted 149/2 in 60 overs at the stumps after Pakistan declared their innings at 391/9.

Pakistan's captain, Shan Masood, resumed his innings from the overnight score of 156, adding 45 more runs to reach his third first-class double hundred. His unbeaten 201 from 298 deliveries included 14 boundaries and a maximum.

Jordan Buckingham, the right-arm fast bowler who had taken three wickets the previous day, completed a five-wicket haul by striking twice today, removing Aamir Jamal and Mir Hamza, both departing cheaply.

Shan declared the innings after Khurram Shahzad was run out due to a direct hit by Nathan McSweeney, leaving the scorecard at 391-9 in 116.2 overs.

In response, the Prime Minister’s XI opening duo, Cameron Bancroft (53, 128b, 3x4s) and Marcus Harris (49, 102b, 6x4s), formed a solid 96-run partnership.

Abrar Ahmed provided the breakthrough for Pakistan by dismissing Harris in the 36th over. Right-arm pacer Khurram Shahzad then trapped Bancroft LBW to claim the second wicket for Pakistan.

At stumps, Cameron Green (18 not out, 71b, 2x4s) and Matt Renshaw (19 not out, 60b, 1x4) batted together, adding 37 more runs to take the Prime Minister’s XI total to 149-2, trailing by 242 runs.
