Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah has started his final stage of rehabilitation after undergoing surgery on his shoulder injury that ruled him out from the ODI World Cup in India.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the speedster's rehabilitation is being conducted at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore under the care of a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist and a doctor. Currently, he is doing light gym exercises and partial bowling practice and will start batting on Thursday.

The 20-year-old suffered an injury on his shoulder during the Asia Cup in September and underwent surgery in the United Kingdom. Following the surgery, he remained in the UK for two months for rehabilitation and initial training as the PCB covered his medical costs and he received continuous care from a team of expert medical staff.

Naseem was ruled out of Pakistan's World Cup squad as the team failed to qualify for the semifinals and faced strong criticism from former Pakistan cricketers and countrymen. They also lost against arch-rivals India in the quadrennial event in Ahmedabad.
Naseem also missed the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia due to the injury. He made his debut for Pakistan against the same opponent in a Test in 2019. He went on to become the youngest pacer to pick a five-wicket haul and a hat-trick in Test cricket.
Naseem is part of the lethal pace attack including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali. He has played 17 Tests, 14 ODIs and 19 T20Is so far for Pakistan and holds a total of 98 wickets across formats.
