CSK Training Camp IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings star wicket-keeper batter MS Dhoni is gearing up for the upcoming season of the IPL. During a practice session on Tuesday, he proved that a lot of cricket is still left in him even though he is 43 years old and would like to go all gun-blazing against the Pacers.
He was seen batting against Matheesha Pathirana and smacked a poorly bowled yorker for a huge six. He had played his famous helicopter shot and that forced the ball to go over Pathirana's head and towards the boundary line at the Chepauk stadium.

The Chennai-based franchise retained the former Indian skipper as an uncapped player ahead of the mega auction last year. He was retained for Rs 4 crore and that helped the team management to save a huge amount of money. There is a high chance that he could be playing his last season during IPL 2025. Dhoni had hinted about retiring from the cash-rich league a lot of times in the past. He was recently seen wearing a T-shirt with the line 'One last time' written on it.
He also opened up as to what kept him motivated even at the age of 43 in this tournament. He said that he now works for at least 6-8 months a year in order to prepare for the two-month-long tournament. Ever since he retired from international cricket, he always joined the team's pre-season camp the earliest.
"For me, my biggest motivation was that contribution to make India win. Now that I've retired from international cricket, I can't say it's the same, but for me now, it's the love for the sport," Dhoni was quoted as saying at an event in Chennai.
The five-time IPL winning captain would be 44 later this year but he has been able to keep himself fit so that he meets the requirements of this tournament.
