India C vs India D, Duleep Trophy 2024: India C kicked off their Duleep Trophy 2024 campaign with a four-wicket win over India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on Saturday, September 7.
Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad led from the front as India C chased down the 233-run target in 61 overs, wrapping up the game inside the three days.
Manav Suthar took on Saransh Jain in the final over, smashing him for 13 runs on the back of a six and a four.
He remained unbeaten on 19 runs with wicketkeeper-batter Abhishek Porel being on the other side and scored unbeaten 35 runs.

Aryan Juyal was the top run-getter for India C, scoring 47 runs whereas Ruturaj made a crucial contribution of 46 runs in just 48 balls on the back of eight fours.
Saransh was the pick of the bowlers for India D in the second innings as he took four wickets whereas Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel found a scalp each as well.
After opting to bowl first, India C came with a brilliant effort and bowled India D out for 164 in 48.3 overs in their first innings.
While the majority of batters of India DD struggled, Axar Patel came up with a recovery and played a memorable knock of 86 runs.
In reply, India C were bowled out for 168 runs in 62.2 overs, taking a little lead of four runs with Baba Indrajith (72) being their top run-scorer.
Harshit Rana picked up four wickets for just 33 runs for India D.
Shreyas Iyer-led India D then posted a total of 236 runs before getting bowled out in 58.1 overs to set a target for their opponents.
Devdutt Padikkal (56) and skipper Shreyas (54) smashed half-centuries while Ricky Bhui came up with a crucial contribution of 44 runs.

Manav Suthar unleashed a remarkable effort as he picked up a seven-wicket haul for just 49 runs in his 19.1 overs.
He also was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his 20 runs and eight wickets in the match.
Ruturaj Gaikwad-led India C will next take on India B whereas India D will be up against India A in their respective next games on September 12.
