India squad for T20 World Cup 2024: The wait for the much-awaited squad announcement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has ended with the list of 15 players named on Tuesday.
After extensive discussions and exploring all the permutations and combinations, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal among others have been recalled from the side while many star players missed a berth.
Take a look at five players who have missed a place in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024:
Shubman Gill: The opening batter faced the brunt of Yashasvi Jaiswal making the left-right combination with captain Rohit Sharma at the top order. Despite being a regular member of the Indian side, Gill missed the chance due to southpaw. Gill has scored more runs than Jaiswal in the ongoing IPL. With 320 runs in 10 matches including two half-centuries, the Gujarat Titans captain is the second-highest run-getter for the franchise.

KL Rahul: The wicketkeeper-batter is in the headlines for being dropped from the side despite making an impressive comeback in the IPL after an injury. In nine matches, Rahul has struck 378 runs including three fifties, the most by any batter for Lucknow Super Giants in the season. With Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson already in the 15-man squad, Rahul's omission was on the cards but he was in contention for the spot.
Rinku Singh: One of the finds of IPL in recent years, his omission from the squad was a little shocking keeping in mind his late flourish. In 15 T20Is that he played India including the three against Afghanistan earlier this year, he has scored 356 runs including two half-centuries. In IPL 2024, the batter does not got many opportunities to bat with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Tilak Varma: The youngster cannot be left unnoticed for the shortest format pinnacle as he was part of India's last T20I series against Afghanistan in January. In 16 T20Is, he has accumulated 336 runs with two half-centuries. In the ongoing IPL 2024, Tilak is the highest run-getter for Mumbai Indians with 336 runs in nine matches including three fifty-plus scores.

Ravi Bishnoi: The T20I regular has failed to make the final cut despite featuring in most of the shortest format series last year including the one against Afghanistan in January this year. In the IPL 2024, the youngster has not been in form with only five scalps in nine matches.
