Happy Birthday Shreyas Iyer: Shreyas Iyer, who is an important part of India's white-ball team, has turned 31 on Saturday. A brilliant batter, who has an excellent temperament, has proved himself to be a big match-winner for the team many times in his career. He has also performed brilliantly for IPL teams like Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and now Punjab Kings.

He made his debut for India way back in November 2017 and has played for India in 14 Tests, 73 ODIs, and 51 T20Is. He is currently out of both T20Is and Tests, but has performed well in ODIs.

He has scored a total of 2917 runs at a brilliant average of 47.81 and a strike rate of 100, which also includes 530 runs after playing in 11 matches in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He also played a huge role in helping India win the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Shreyas Iyer’s Records And Achievements

Iyer had scored 530 runs in the 2023 World Cup, which includes two tons, and that too in the semifinal against New Zealand. He was India's third-highest run-scorer.

He was also India's second-highest run-scorer in the Champions Trophy 2025. He had scored 243 runs after playing in five matches, which included two important fifties under his name.

Iyer, who didn't get enough opportunities in the longest format, had smashed a brilliant ton in his debut match against New Zealand in 2021.

He was also adjudged the Emerging Player of the Year award as he had scored 436 runs in IPL 2015 while playing for Delhi Capitals.

And then in IPL 2024, he helped KKR lift their third title.

Iyer once scored 1321 runs at a staggering average of 73 and helped Mumbai win their Ranji Trophy title for the first time in 41 years. His record in the 2024-25 season is still the second-highest in the history of this tournament and is just behind VVS Laxman, who had scored 1415 runs for Hyderabad in 1999-2000.

Shreyas Iyer’s Recent Injury Update

Iyer, who had sustained a career-threatening injury as he tried to take a catch in the third ODI against Australia, is now undergoing rehab. As per scans, he had suffered a spleen laceration.

He stayed back in Australia for medical treatment and then underwent rehab at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. After being ruled out of the series against South Africa, he will next be seen in action against New Zealand for the ODI series next month.
