International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the schedule for the Men's Under-19 World Cup 2024, marking a return to Sri Lanka after an 18-year gap. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on January 13, 2024, and conclude on February 4, 2024, spanning 23 exciting days of youth cricket action.
The event will be hosted at five different venues located in the capital city of Colombo. This edition of the tournament marks the 15th occurrence of the Men's Under-19 World Cup, featuring a total of sixteen teams vying for the prestigious trophy through 41 matches.
Eleven full-member teams secured direct qualification into the competition, while five other teams earned their spots through regional qualifiers. These qualifying teams include Namibia, Scotland, the United States of America, Nepal, and New Zealand, adding an international flavor to the event.
The opening match of the tournament will feature the host nation, Sri Lanka, taking on Zimbabwe. This exciting encounter will be followed by two more matches on the same day, setting the stage for an action-packed tournament.

Revealing a new format for this edition, the best-performing teams during the group stages will advance to a Super Six stage. In this stage, two groups comprising six teams each will compete, ultimately determining the four semi-finalists who will vie for a spot in the championship match.
The Men's Under-19 World Cup has traditionally served as a platform for young, budding cricketers to showcase their talents on the global stage, often acting as a launchpad for future cricketing stars. As the tournament returns to Sri Lanka, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing the next generation of talent in action, battling it out for youth cricket's ultimate prize.
