IND vs AUS, World Cup 2023 Final: Australian Cricket team added another star to their jerseys by clinching the prestigious Cricket World Cup 2023 for the record-extending sixth time. The Men in Golden beat Men in Blues by six wickets at Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad in front of 130,000 crowd.

Travis Head emerged as the hero for Australia, scoring a big century in the final (137), joining the elite list featuring Ricky Ponting and Adam Ghilchrist. Mitchell Starc took three wickets in the match, including that of Shubman Gill and KL Rahul. Marnus Labuschagne and Head put up a 192 runs stand to take Australia home.

For India, Rahul was the leading scorer with 66 runs. Virat Kohli scored his fifth consecutive fifty in the World Cup, before eventually getting out at 54 runs.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins fulfilled his promise of silencing a big crowd, dismissing Virat Kohli with an extra-bounce delivery. KL Rahul's composed 66 was crucial, but the Indians managed only 13 fours in the entire innings. Rohit Sharma's aggressive 47 provided momentum until a stunning catch by Travis Head shifted the game.

Australia's fielding was exceptional, with Cummins' strategic placements limiting India's batting duo. Cummins' captaincy and decisionmaking stood out in the match. After winning the toss, Pat Cummins decided to field first on a sluggish track.

Indian batsmen struggled on a challenging pitch, posting a below-par 240 runs after getting a good start. In-form Shreyas Iyer got out after scoring just four runs, while Ravindra Jadeja who was promoted up the order managed only nine runs. Suryakumar Yadav tried to give some stability to the Indian innings, but got out after scoring 18.

Australia got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets for just 47 runs, thanks to bowling masterclass of Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. But, as the bowl stopped swinging, Australian batters milked Indian pacers and spinners alike to build up a match-winning partnership.

Australia have now won the World Cup on six occasions- 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015, 2023.
